All Duratec Engines(2.3L and DISI) have a large gear installed on the crank, this is used by the balance shaft assembly located in the oil pan. It's there to cancel out extra motor vibrations, but the bad news is it robs about 5hp from the motor to turn the balance shaft. What the balance shaft delete kit does for you, is it allows you to remove the balance shaft mechanism, and plug up the oil passage way with the supplied O-ring and gain those few HP’s back. This item will fit 2.3L Duratec or DISI engine. |
